A comic book album
Mika describes the album "A comic book musical
biography of my adolescence".
In the video of the first single (We are Golden) ,
he dances in his bedroom.

Problems at school
Today Mika is a star, but things have not
always been easy. He was dyslexic and he was bullied
at school. But a Russian music teacher taught him how
to sing and play the piano. I was trained very hard,
the way, they used to train Russian gymnasts, he says.

Family business
Mika got a place at the Royal College of Music.
So he chose pop music. He got lots of encouragement
from his family, and they still help him today. Mika's
father is American and his mother is Lebanese (Libanés).
He has a three sisters and one brother. His family are very
creative.

A boy with discipline
Mika's mum has always insisted and hard work.
I was 12 years old, she drilled discipline and a quest
for excellence into me.
It was hard, but now I know what she means, he says.
When we listen to the new album, we know she was right!

My favourite TV programme

My favourite TV programme is FoQ it is a Spanish series.
I like FoQ because the stories and characters are great.
In the serie Cabano,Ruth,Alma and more, they were in
high school,copules...
In my opinion, the best character is Gorka and Cabano.
I like them because they're interesting and I like them
because they have beautiful eyes.

Ticket clerk.- Hello.
Marina.- Hi, i'd like three tickets, please.
Ticket clerk.- Certainley. How old are you?
Marina.- I'm fourteen, my sister ten and my
brother eighteen.
Ticket clerk.- All right. So, that's one adult and
two child. That's 12.50 pounds altogether, please.
Marina.- OK. Here you are.
Ticket clerk.- Thanks. Here's your change and your
tickets. Enjoy your visit.

Making arrangements

Lourdes.- Hi Marina.I've got a new DVD.
Do you want to watch it with me?
Marina.- Yeah, of course. When?
Lourdes.- How about Friday night?
Marina.- Sorry! I'm busy.I'm going to sleepover at
Sia's house.
Lourdes.- I'm free on Sunday morning. What about you?
Marina.- I'm not doing anything.
Lourdes.- Great. Let's meet on Sunday, then.
Do you want to come round to my house at six o'clock?
Marina.- Yes, all right.See you then.

My typical weekend

On Friday evening I always stay in, I never got out.
My friend Anna often comes to my house and we play
computer games or watch TV.
At the weekend I never play sport.
On Saturday my family we go to my grandmother’s
house, and we have lunch with my family.
On Sunday I never get up early, because my sister
always gets up early.
I always do my homework at the weekend.
